After their stellar fifth year as one of Miami’s most popular and beloved bands, Latin soul-fusion outfit Elastic Bond will bring their sultry new sound to New York City for two prominent showcases at the LAMC 2011.
The buzz about the band’s intoxicating grooves has been percolating and gradually spilling out of South Florida for some time now, coming to a full boil last year with the release of their latest EP “Frecuencia Natural”. One of the release’s tracks – the rapturous “Pierdo el Control” – will be featured on the LAMC official compilation which will be given to attendees at the conference which takes place from July 6th through the 9th.
The band will kick off its stint in NYC with a slot at the official LAMC Indie Showcase at the Mercury Lounge on July 6th. They’ll also close out the conference with a prime appearance at Jack Daniels’ “Local Bands We Love” showcase on July 9th, the final day of LAMC.
With their new album “Real” in the works and their bewitching tunes working their way into ears far outside of Miami, Elastic Bond now seems poised for international success, with LAMC potentially serving as an auspicious launch pad.
The Latin Alternative Music Conference has become a major event in the Latin music world, taking adventurous, left-of-center Latin bands from regional acclaim to worldwide popularity. To quote the New York Times, “LAMC is to Latin alternative the way the Sundance Film Festival is to indie movies.”
