Dub 13 is a producer, musician and artist based in both Barranquilla, Colombia and the U.S. He has done many remixes, including one for Argentina based, Tremor ‘viajante’ (la luna-voltaje revision). His collective vision of electro punk that reflects on a revered past through a kinetic present is very creative and truly an outward expression of inward exploration.
Dub 13‘s body of work, which can be heard HERE, is downright a vision beyond temporal. The conceptualization is visibly poetic in Matisyahu “One Day (the alpha –wave bhajan)“, where you get the sense of the no boundaries he wants the listener to experience. The deep sound characteristic in much of today’s electro sound can be heard in Dub 13’s favela robo-lust revision of Aby Wolf “thanks for listening” which actually puts you in a mood by force of what was creatively conceptualized during the production.
He has devoted the past year to remixes and has re-focused his creativity into his own original music. His new EP is entitled “zero a.m.” consisting of 5-6 tracks as a digital release. The project will feature guest vocalists and possibly a re-working of José Feliciano’s “Rain”. The plans for tracking the vocals and mixing the EP will be at Robi “Draco” Rosa’s Phantom Vox studios in Hollywood, CA.
The EP “zero a.m.” will have a limited edition special version that will include a 2 disc set in a custom designed gatefold package. Disc one will be the original release and disc two will be remixes by invited artists. Dub 13’s ambitious efforts can be seen in his own work and is clearly the driving force behind his much anticipated album release. I can’t wait to hear what’s next!
