A cornucopia of music will provide a feast of delights as world beat music takes center stage in Miami. A melodic smorgasbord featuring a musical genre for every taste – including reggae, Latin American, Caribbean, rock ‘n roll, and more.

Hitting the stage is a unique group of artists whose musical brilliance is eclipsed only by its message of love and hope.“I carefully selected this lineup because every artist has devoted their life to spreading a message that is consistent with our purpose,” said ROCKAZ MVMT president and CEO Alfonso D’Niscio Brooks. “We are all striving to change the world for the better by empowering people to make a positive difference through the universal language of music.”

Midnite: The legendary St. Croix roots reggae group teaches us to “keep good relations” with one another, despite the corporate greed and political discord around the globe.

Cultura Profetica: Puerto Rican reggae band with lyrics that center mostly on socio-political and ecological issues.

Easy Star All-Stars (by now we should all know): With the “Dub Side of the Moon“, “Radiodread” and “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Dub Band“, they have defined themselves as one of the most powerful reggae production conglomerates outside of Jamaica.

Gondwana (Chile): Spreading the word of Jah Love, standing tall and strong in a peace-loving position of musical and lyrical creation.

Jahfe: Here to let the world know that contrary to popular belief, Jah is real and His word shall come to pass. Representing the power of the youth and the wisdom of roots culture, their music not only reflects Miami’s diverse music scene but also the true ability of conscious music to connect with people of all backgrounds.

This year’s concert will include a food drive benefiting Curley’s House, an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for low-to-moderate income individuals, families, the elderly, youth-at-risk, the abused, and HIV/AIDS infected individuals by providing the nutrition they need. Guests will be asked to contribute two or more cans of food as part of the cost of admission.

On event day they will orchestrate an “island festival” of tents that will feature new products, special drinks, foods, art, and more. In addition there will be a non-profit village with a host of foundations offering information, art & crafts village, food vending village, green partners explaining the benefits of going green, workshops, bounce houses for children, bike valet, YOGA in the park, eco village, compost village, farmers market, VIP lounge, Recycling bins will be placed throughout the venue along with signage alerting attendees to the importance of recycling.

Miami based Llamabeats released the video of “Sick of it all,” from their upcoming album to be released real soon. Miami New Times named Llamabeats as one of “Miami’s Top Ten Underground Rap and Hip-Hop Acts.” All their projects (which usually feature a combination of live instrumentation and samples) are available for free download at their website, so there’s no excuse to not check them out… Pulso Y Pa’ Lante!

A mi siempre me gustaba hacer experimentos en las clases de química en la secundaria porque no sabía que esperar de ellos. Para mi sorpresa, sucedió lo mismo cuando escuché por primera vez la banda Xperimento de Miami. No me esperaba esa mezcla de Cumbia, Reggae, Merengue, Ska, Salsa, Funk y otros elementos que me dio ganas de pararme y moverme al son de ritmos multiculturales. El disco “Second Floor” es uno que comienza bien y termina bien. A través del álbum se pueden apreciar distintos ritmos en distintos idiomas, haciendo que ninguna canción se parezca a otra y haciéndolo muy entretenido, tanto para bailar como para sentarse a escuchar.

La banda que denomina su música como “Latin Reggae Urban Soul” comenzó hace más de dos años uniendo músicos de Argentina, Puerto Rico, Venezuela y Colombia para así formar una mezcla interesante de ritmos latinos que solamente se puede dar en Miami. “Second Floor” es el primer álbum de la banda, el cual ya está disponible a través de iTunes.

A pesar de que los experimentos a veces pueden salir mal, parece que Xperimento es uno que salió bien. Está científicamente probado que su música es perfecta para la gozadera de día y de noche.

Sofy Encanto and producer Andres Ponce have been spearheading the blend of Afro-Latin, artsy soul-stew called Elastic Bond since back in the days of Myspace. Along with the evolution of times, sounds and personnel, the band has since established musicians Buffalo Brown (guitar) and El David Burgos (trumpet) as co-pilots on the mothership connection. Their latest indie-hatched EP “Frecuencia Natural” has brought the band along the east coast from North Carolina, up to crowds in Williamsburg. Last summer they showcased as one of the Local Bands We Love at LAMC in NYC; even garnering airplay on KCRW, as well as overseas. According to their upcoming music video written and directed by Benito Portes, this band has also recently been to outer-space… paradise and back. The “Frecuencia Natural” music video takes us through the fantastic voyage of a cosmic star-child fallen to Earth, all while Elastic Bond throws down what the Miami New Times describes as “Danceable, loving righteousness.” Frecuencia Natural! The release is set for this Friday, December 2nd for an Art Basel afterparty premiere at PAX Miami, where the band has been holding a residency on the first Friday of the month. This special night will feature DJ sets by Mr. Brown and Y Diz, a unique performance on stilts by the actors of Prometeo Theater with original music by Elastic Bond, live painting by Dexos, art by Eddie Earthtone Vegas, Frecuencia Natural remixes, and more. A melodic smorgasbord featuring a musical genre for every taste – including reggae, Jamaican, Latin American, Kompa, Caribbean, rock ‘n roll, and more – will highlight this year’s concert.

In addition to a special tribute to the life of Honorable Robert Nesta ‘Bob’ Marley and 50 years of Wailers music, this year’s Bayside Rocks will feature world music headliners The Original Wailers. Also hitting the stage are a unique group of artists whose musical brilliance is eclipsed only by its message of love and hope.

“I carefully selected this lineup because every artist has devoted his life to spreading a message that is consistent with my purpose,” said ROCKAZ MVMT president and CEO Alfonso D’Niscio Brooks. “We are all striving to change the world for the better by empowering people to make a positive difference through the universal language of music.”

According to artist Warrior King, “As a Rastafarian you just don’t sing music, you sing music with a purpose and a mission. To the four corners of the Earth I carry my music, and the message of love, to all people of all races.”

Cultura Profetica is a Puerto Rican reggae band with lyrics that center mostly on socio-political and ecological issues. Pato Banton sometimes invites his fans to join him in a prayer circle after the show and is committed to helping people “stay positive and never give in.”

Connis Vanterpool is a brilliantly talented musician who has worked with scores of international artists but is most proud of his involvement with the volunteer work he has done in the community, providing free music workshops at various elementary and secondary schools. Tabou Combo’s vocalist and main songwriter Fanfan said, “We want people to dance and forget their sorrows.” And while there is no doubt that Tabou’s music is made for dancing, it also features lyrics that focus on social issues of the day.

¡Feliz viernes! Hoy venimos desde Miami con el grupo Palo! y con la canción “Camina con los codos” que está contenida el el álbum “This is Afro-Cuban Funk“. La canción fue escrita por los integrantes de Palo! Steve Roitstein y Leslie Cartaya en colaboración con Roly Rivero, músico profesional que vive en Cuba con el cual el grupo colabora vía email. Por esta razón es que esta canción (al igual que las demás en el álbum) tiene una vibra de funk mezclado con sabor cubano.

La agrupación fue formada en el 2003 por el tecladista y productor Steve Roitstein, miamero que fue el director musical de Willy Chirino por varios años, en conjunto con el saxofonista venezolano Ed Calle y la cantante Leslie Cartaya, conguero Philbert Almenteros y timbalero Raymer Olalde, que llegaron a Miami desde Cuba hace varios años.
