Feliz viernes! Today we bring the new Navegante video: a remix of the song “All In Your Head,” featuring rapper Young Chris! The original track (which appears in the album Rebel Ship Rock) is great, but the remix takes the song to a whole new level… The video was shot at the Rocawear headquarters in New York City and was directed by Rik Cordero, who has worked with artists like Nas, Jay-Z and The Roots.

As a music lover, I’m always looking for new music and innovative sounds around the infinite cluster of music that exists today. In the quest I stumbled upon Camellia Sessions, a record label releasing a series of albums with a cool concept behind them, which they refer to as “Re-Lived” Music. Camellia Sessions has selected classic songs from throughout many decades and features a select lineup of musicians and artists re-recording them with a fresh and contemporary sound. These recordings reminded me of a lot of songs I’ve heard before, mostly in my childhood when my grandparents listened to these classic tracks on the radio, and I must say, these “Re-Lived” tunes give justice to the original songs. The only way to prove it is by listening to the releases:

Tras regresar de su gira por la costa norte de Colombia, donde estableció un fuerte vínculo con la escena de cantautores de la región, Gatiyo anticipa con “Lo Máximo” su próximo trabajo: Fucsia, a lanzarse en mayo de 2012 bajo la producción del reconocido tornamesista y productor DJ Pho. Entre los teclados western, las guitarras acústicas y los arreglos de viento, escuchamos un sonido que bebe por partes iguales de influencias clásicas como la de los Beatles y de sonidos contemporáneos como el de Miranda, Babasónicos, Arcade Fire y el pop indie en general.

Por más que transite por distintas rutas musicales, la música de Mau posée desde siempre el don de la enorme sinceridad, las líricas poderosas y la fuerza de la vida bogotana. Esperamos con ansias sus nuevos sonidos para el próximo año! Pulso y Pa’ lante!
