AFRIKA, Santero’s third album, is soon to be unveiled and we have the official exclusive release of the first single,’Besito’, which he so generously shared with us. Today you can download it for FREE six months before the album drops!
You may remember we featured the artist, DJ and producer, Santero earlier in 2010 with the video ‘Agua del Rio‘ from his sophomore album ‘El Hijo de Obatala‘ which encompasses spiritual journeys that reflect some of his earliest memories roaming through Central America with his father, a singer from El Salvador. Santero hails from Guatemala but his musical styles vary as much as the many places he has lived in throughout  Central America and North America. Currently he resides in Oakland, California which he calls home and where he records much of his music.

‘Besito‘, Santero’s new Latin-Afro rhythmic single produced by Greg Landau from ‘AFRIKA‘ slated to be released summer 2011 from Round Whirled Records/City Hall Records is just a taste of what will be in store this upcoming year. His new album will be an exploration of the impact African rhythms have had on the music of Latin America. With that being the focus, Santero looks to explore deep into his own Latin roots and African Diaspora sensibilities to bring together the best of two musical worlds in this utterly danceable and celebratory release.
